It's Official

My results today were confirmed negative. But has anyone else been given this directive? They told me to stay on the PIO until my next test to make sure that it wasn't a testing error. But I think this is ridiculous because I have 5 early HPT that confirm this as well. Aren't we just dragging this out? That and I would have to open up a new bottle of PIO and stick my already sore and bruised tushy for another 5 days just to reconfirm what we already know.

I think I'm just going to stop the PIO and get this thing over with. But first, any opinions out there if I would be doing the right thing?

I thought I'd put our IVF#1 summary of events in this as a closing on this chapter and make a fresh start.

My clinic does not do that, but I have a friend who just had a failed IVF at ORM and they told her the same thing. She said screw it and stopped the shots, which is probably what I would do too. You wouldn't get a false negative, so it doesn't really make sense to put yourself through the additional pain.

I am so very sorry - please take care of yourself (that goes for Mr. Hammer too!). I'm sending strong, comfy cyber hugs.

So sorry to hear it was negative. Not what you want to hear after everything you've been though:( I wouldn't do the progesterone either. Just seems to rub it in a little and I don't understand the reason. Are they having you come in for another beta??

I am so sorry to hear about the negative. Every disappointment in hard to take. Praying that God will give you strength!

Hang in there, only God's strength will carry you through. Personally I wouldn't do the progesterone, but I suppose it is a personal decision...

I am so very sorry. I wish that I knew the "right" words that would comfort, but I am not sure of anything that could make the hurt and disappointment better.

But know that I am praying for you two.

Again, I am so sorry. I have not heard of anyone doing extra PIO shots after a negative- did they say the # was 0? Maybe the # was slightly over 0 and that's why they are drawing it out? I would probably stop too, if it were me, but I would let them know that I was going to do that first before stopping. Take all the time you need to grieve and comfort each other. You are in my thoughts.

Honestly, I'm with you- I would probably just stop the shots too. I understand that it's a precaution but if they're painful, I think it's fine to just call it quits. I'm really, really sorry that this cycle didn't work out for you guys. I know negative pregnancy tests are difficult at any time, but especially after completing an emotionally draining IVF cycle. But, I do think that this is a bump in the road for you guys and that great things are coming your way. It's hard to see that now, I'm sure, but you'll get there. Hang in there. I'm thinking of you.

I'm praying for you! Im so sorry that this didn't work out.
I think that the doctors office is trying to keep hope, which is nice but at the same time it messes with your head when you basically already know the answer. I would do as they say though because you never know. Miracles happen!

I'm so sorry. I wish there were adequate words to say. My heart just breaks for you. All I know is that God has a perfect plan, though I know this may only be a small comfort...I'll be lifting you up in prayer today.

This is actually pretty standard for most clinics. It really is just a measure to rule out any lab testing areas....but I say go with your heart and do what you feel is right. Give your tushie a break and save that bottle of PIO for the next round. I'm so sorry about the BFN. I have been in your shoes and know how you feel. But all hope is not lost. I have faith your family is coming soon.

Just a tip for you that worked for me....about 5 min before each PIO shot...put a little ice pack on your tushie....you won't feel the shot and the bruising is next to nothing. It will make the process a little less uncomfortable next time.

Hang in there. I know this is a crappy feeling.

Hugs.
